PPUR Text Promo to Give Away more than P30million in Cash Prizes

One lucky texter stands to win the biggest prize money in text messaging with the launching of the “Pera sa Kweba” text raffle promo for the Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) in Palawan.

The promo, which runs for 90 days from September 30 to December 28 of this year, will give away more than P30million worth of cash prizes, with the grand prize set at P25million and five consolation prizes of one million pesos each to be drawn on December 30, 2011.

Texters can also win P10,000 in daily draws, P100,000 in bi-weekly draws, and P250,000 in monthly draws throughout the promo period. All winning numbers will be drawn electronically.

Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Ramon J. P. Paje said that the promo is an initiative of the private sector to promote Puerto Princesa City as an important ecotourism destination, particularly the PPUR which is a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site.

He added that the promo would educate the public more on the PPUR and “show everyone why it is a deserving finalist in the New Seven Wonders of Nature global competition.”

The text raffle promo is open to all postpaid and prepaid subscribers of Globe, TM, Sun, Smart or Talk N’ Text at P2.50 per SMS. There is no need for registration.

Raffle entries are automatically earned each time a subscriber votes for the PPUR as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature by texting PPUR, or when downloading trivia by texting PPUR ON also to 2861. Winners will be notified via text, call or registered mail.

Each trivia downloaded or text sent will earn two raffle entries from October 1, 2010 to November 10, 2011, and one raffle entry for the period November 11-December 28, 2011. The “Pera sa Kweba” promo is retroactive for all those who were able to register in the SMS voting for the PPUR since last year.

“Among others, this text promo will generate excitement and pride among Filipinos here and abroad in recognizing the PPUR as a true wonder of nature as proven by La Venta,” said Paje, referring to Italian geographical association La Venta Esplorazioni Gegrafiche, whose members had earlier unearthed mineral and fossil findings in the PPUR cave.

Kid Singing in PureGold Clark

This video is starting to become famous over the internet. A kid who is selling flutes in Puregold Clark (as mentioned in Youtube)who really "Got the Talent" in singing. He entertained the buyers by singing some hits of Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber. He can also do beat box and the voice of Chipmunks. But his rendition of Neyo's and Mariah Carey's "Angel's Cry" topped it all up. You've got the future in singing kid!
video courtesy of ryaneski

If I heard him right (and if I spelled his name right), his name is Arginal Gilbert from Mabalacat, Pampanga.

Indeed, there are many young pinoy talents waiting to be discovered.

Muzikademy: 2011 Music Camp

Deadline: August 27, 2011

Are you ready to take the next step to improve your music skills and performance? Then join the second season of Muzikademy: 2011 Music Camp.

"Muzikademy is a gathering of young minds sharing the same passion for music". Its a 2-day workshop exclusively for out-of-school youth and college students that will surely develop their skills from being a usual musician to a highly-trained one. Skills development will be done through a series of tests and workshops from respected authorities in the music industry in our country. Muzikademy is spearheaded by Janice Hung, a Wushu champion, actress, model and at the same time, a music enthusiast and co-presented by Fontana and Janice Hung Arts and Sports Foundation. The event is to be held again in Fontana Hot Springs and Leisure Park, Clark Special Economic Zone, Pampanga. Other sponsors includes Freeway, Solo, Nikki Veneracion, Shimmian Surgi Center, LG JJ International, Dental First and Accel.

It was really an awesome experience for me when I covered the event last year and I personally witnessed how talented young Filipinos are. Each participant really thrown out the best performance they could ever give. You'll see how passionate each performers during the contest night as they sung out their original composition and their cover song. We witnessed how they used what they have learned from their trainings and workshops from various trainors like Monet Silvestre of Pinoy Dream Academy and McCoy Fundales of Kenyo (former lead vocalist of Orange and Lemons). They were fully equipped with knowledge and confidence as if they were a pro. It was really a good clash of talents and passion from young and musically-inclined Pinoys.

Great prizes awaits the winners plus you'll get a chance to meet a lot of new friends which I think is the best prize you could get in the music camp.

Captain America is my Icon of A Modern Hero

Captain America is my Icon of A Modern Hero

Real heroes are noble and sublime. They are those who fight to whatever they believe is right without even taking or asking for anything in return. They always take into consideration the safety of every individual around them. Their lives are always at risk, always in danger. But they do not care for as long as they are doing it for the sake of everyone.

If only possible to have Captain America in real life, I would appeal to him to help us solve the never ending peace and order problem in Mindanao. I would ask him to help Darna and other pinoy super heroes to joined force and battle it out to achieve peace and security without letting blood to flow and cause devastation of innocent lives and properties. Just with their super powers I know they will be able to control any armors, guns and bombs. But unfortunately, Captain America is just a fictional character. The only thing that we can do is to make him an icon to look forward that there are still reason for us to have a safety living. A character that will serve as our inspiration to hope for a better future.

What's Your Patronus (Happy Potter)

And then the finale has come. The movie that we all followed and fell in love with is about to end. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is now showing worldwide. For sure its another blockbuster hit and will be the common topic of all fanatics.

While browsing facebook earlier I found out an online application about Who's your Patronus? A patronus is a kind of positive force, and for the wizard who can conjure one, it works something like a shield. In order for it to work, you need to think of a memory, a very powerful memory.

Upon trying the application, I end up to have fox as my patronus. Its interesting because you can either share it in your facebook wall or download the image file of it.

Want to know what your Patronus is, click here.

PLDT myDSL’s Internet to Sawa TRANSFORMS my Internet Experience from So-so to Awesome!

PLDT myDSL’s Internet to Sawa TRANSFORMS my Internet experience from So-so to Awesome!

Yes, that is so true! Part of my life is online, I must say. Should I say an e-life! Before, I was contented just surfing the net. But when I became a blogger, my time being online extends from ordinary to extraordinary. I became interested of sharing my experiences through text and photos on my blog and other social networking sites like facebook and twitter.

Through PLDT myDSL Internet to Sawa, I want to shift from using a broadband stick to PLDT my DSL Internet to SAWA so I can surf more, download more, blog more with no limits, without even thinking of my prepaid credits to run out.

Another reason why I like PLDT myDSL Internet to Sawa is that I can now download large e-file of travel tips and guides with no buffer, hangs, or connection error. These kind of files really help me a lot especially when I'm in search of places to visit and reading photoblogs with large picture size. These kind of blogs requires a fast connection to load the photos and pages quickly.

I also love watching videos in youtube, and to be able to do that is to have a fast and reliable internet connection, who wouldnt want a 5MBPS connection? Unlike any other service provider that disappoints you when in the middle of watching a funny clip, the video will suddenly stop because it buffers. Isn't that a momentum killer?

Now tell me "Who doesn't like PLDT myDSL Internet to Sawa?

With your TRIPLE PLAY PLAN, you get
1. unlimited myDSL at 5MBPS
2. WATCHPAD with more exclusive content
3. plus one-year of FREE (again FREE) PLDT to PLDT NDD calls.

Korea's Got Talent "Sung-bong Choi"

"I dont speak Korean and certainly not a fan of this type of music. But why there's tear in my eyes when he started singing???"

That is the youtube's video comment of jiggaman6 in the performance of Sung-bong Choi, a 22 year old contestant in Korea's Got Talent.

Video by gmldnjsroEl

I felt the same after watching the whole video. Based on his interview before his performance, one of the judges asked him why he left the family section in his application form blank? He then replied that he was left in an orphanage at the age of three and then at the age of five he ran away from the orphanage after being beaten off and bullied. At that young age, he survived by selling gums and energy drinks on the street. He did that for ten years according to Choi. He lives with no one beside him since he was five. He learn to sleep on the street and public toilet. He described those days in his life as a "dayfly". he wasnt able to go to school and just took GED or General Educational Development to cover up for his elementary and middle school degrees and high school was the first school he have been to.

He said that he like singing because it was the first thing he liked after living that dayfly - like life. He also humbly said that he is not a good singer but he just like it.

The moment he started opening his lips, I had goosebumps and tears started dwelling into my eyes as he started singing Nella Fantasia, ("In My Fantasy") is an Italian song based on the theme "Gabriel's Oboe" from the film The Mission in 1986 (Wikipedia).

The audience and even the judges gave him a round of applause. Some even cried and cant believed that such great performance came from a boy who struggles a lot at a very young age. After the performance and when the judges are about to give their comments, Song Yoona said "I just want to give you a hug". Another judge, Park Kolleen ask him why he wants to sing, Choi said that he went through so many bad things in his life, he even experienced being sold to somewhere and one day while selling gums in a night club, he saw a vocalist on the stage and he became so fascinated while the singer was singing so sincerely. Since then, he started singing.
Park Kolleen offered him a voice lesson after hearing that Choi just listened and practiced by himself and had not taken any lesson. No matter what happened to him in the competition, he can still consider himself lucky because a famous musical director in Korea and Rain's music teacher is offering him a vocal training.

"Indeed, A man with a great passion on what he is doing will go far." Bring it on Choi Sung-bong. You did a great job! Good luck!

Watch Korea's Got Talent Season 1 at tvN Asia. The three judges are Park Kolleen,
Jang Jin and Song Yoona.

Nella Fantasia

Italian
Nella fantasia io vedo un mondo giusto,
Lì tutti vivono in pace e in onestà.
Io sogno d'anime che sono sempre libere,
Come le nuvole che volano,
Pien' d'umanità in fondo all'anima.

Pien' d'umanità in fondo all'anima.

English translation

In my imagination I see a fair world,
Everyone lives in peace and in honesty there.
I dream of souls that are always free,
Like the clouds that fly,
Full of humanity in the depths of the soul.

In my imagination I see a bright world,
Even the night is less dark there.
I dream of souls that are always free,
Like clouds that fly.

In my imagination there exists a warm wind,
That breathes on the cities, like a friend.
I dream of souls that are always free,
Like clouds that fly,
Full of humanity in the depths of the soul.

Nuffnang and Hapee Special Screening

Signing up for Nuffnang has offered me a lot of benefits. From earning to gaining friends, Nuffnang has never failed to surprise me as a blogger. They always hold contests with big and awesome prizes. Through Nuffnang events I was able to meet fellow bloggers whom I gain much knowledge and blogging tips. Some of them even became my friends.

We grew up using Hapee toothpaste. It is one of the most or should I say the most affordable toothpaste available in the market. But it is not the only reason why we patronize it, Lamoiyan Corporation which handles Hapee is not just focusing in offering affordable oral and health care. They also active in different advocacies for nature and health.

I can personally attest to how generous Lamoiyan Corporation and Hapee is because they are helping building a legacy, a world-class science museum for every Filipinos, The Mind Museum.

Casey Abrams gets SAVED! (American Idol Season 10)

Perhaps one of the best moment in American Idol, Casey Adams was saved by the judges from being eliminated in this season's competition. Aside from the judges, his co-contestants was surprised when Stefano's name was called and saved.

Casey looked sad and disappointed, but it seems like he gathered all his courage to sing for the Judges' Save. He sang "I Don't Need No Doctor,", but the judges cut him off mid song. He then started to get scared more, but when the judges used their only save for this season, he receives more applause and screams.

"We know who we you are, we don't need to see you sing any more," Randy Jackson said.

Then Steven Tyler spoke: "This is crazy wrong! We've made a decision to keep you on!"

Among the three finalist in the bottom three were Stefano Langone, Thia Megia and Casey.

It only means that two finalists will get eliminated next week but 11 will go out for tour instead of 10.

I am Confused, I Need to be Really Connected with the Whole World

I was lost. I found myself in the middle of nowhere. I was confused.

After the painful death of my beloved father. I never thought about the time I would have to step into my own father's shoes. He was always there to fill them. Then suddenly, he wasn't. And now I have had to step into them. I didn't feel prepared for the role, but I have to. Now I clearly understand how it is to be the father. What it takes to be the head of the family. It is all about self-sacrifice. Sacrifice for the people you value and love the most. As the eldest, I need to show my Mom and my siblings how strong I am, even deep in my heart, I am totally broken and grieving.

Last January I finally ended up my more than 3 years of employment in one of the biggest and I dare say, the richest company in the Philippines. I just get bored of the things that I am doing. I felt like I really need to go out of the shell, explore beyond my comfort zone and dare my self to risk and try other things I havent done before. In the past few weeks before I resign,I had been so skeptical whether or not to quit my job. I consider my family who is looking forward for my support, but something was still bothering me.

It so hard for me to come up with a very quick decision. Until one day, I saw myself composing a resignation letter, something I havent thought to happen that fast. After being a corporate slave for some years, I finally rendered my resignation. I wasnt able to inform and say goodbye to most people who became part of my life in the office.I felt really sad because they were the people I'd been hanging out with since God-knows-when and I considered all of them as my family here in Manila. I was so unfair. I was really confused. I was bothered.

I found a new job, way way far and better from my previous one. I'm earning more compare to my previous one, having weekend restdays, and receiving more benefits. But still I felt incomplete and unfulfilled. Plus inferiority complex was striking me once again. I started to lost my interest. Im getting lazy. I easily get bored again. I'm over dealing with numbers and drawings, I was troubled meeting the deadlines. I reported to work always late. Being advised in front of my officemates (because I deserve it). I still had a lot of pending tasks to finish and I really didn’t want to leave it as pending but I was too damn tired and lazy to finish it. I’m also wasting the company’s resources because most of the time, I’m doing nothing rather than finishing my tasks. I have assignments that was suppose to be done for a day only, but it took me, sometimes, more than a week to finish.

I felt like insanity is spreading out in my head. I was lost. I didnt know where to go. But I have to survive and face the world with courage and strength. I need to start. But i do not know how will start the change I want. Suddenly, I found myself alone. I tried to balance everything. I need to know what really matters to me, what really I want and what i really want to do.

I tried to detach myself from the usual surroundings. I met some people along the way who really helped me. It was really a perfect timing that they arrived when Im almost torn into pieces. They were the ones who build me up again.

I had the chance to travel after winning an online contest. There I met some travel bloggers. I was inspired by their stories and photographs along the roads. I was influenced to start up a travel blog.

I learned that there so much more beyond, so much things to see and experience. I learned that life is way way far from what I expected.

With travel blogging I was able to express my thoughts, share my experience on places and people. I understand cultures and traditions. I now seeing natures more than I saw them in books when I was studying. The street have became my classrooms and the strangers became my teachers. It thought me the real meaning of life and how you should deal with it.

Since I am into blogging, I should honestly confess, I do not have my own computer (looking forward to have one, when? that I dont know!), I just had a company owned-laptop which they let me bring at home. But still I am into another problem, I do not have any internet connection at home. I really need to go on wifi zone just to go online which I find very unpractical. It wastes much of my time. During out of towns when I need to connect to the internet to update my friends on where I am and to publish my post, I still need to hunt for some wifi zones which in most places I go is unavailable.

Its very essential for a new traveler like me to read other blogs and travel journals to get an updated ideas compare to books which some information was published long before. Internet is very useful to scout places, formulate itineraries and communicate with other travelers easily to gather enough information. With just a click you will get tons of the information you want.

I now realized, its time for me to get a personal broadband connection. I've been searching and asking internet users of what is the best broadband connection. I have also seen some advertisements promising and claiming they've got the best and fastest connection. But after purchasing, it will fail your expectation. I know some of my friends complaining about broadband connection that they are using. One time I saw my nephew, sitting near by the window in the second floor of their house only to find out that she was looking for some signal to connect. Indeed, it wasted their money.

NOW is the perfect time for me to subscribe to SMART BRO UNLIMITED HOME Broadband Promo Plan 999 or 1995 because of all the amazing freebies I will mention next. The offer may not happen again so we must have to grab the opportunity now.

Freebies for subscribing to this plan includes
a. Free All-In-One HP Printer, which I find really important in printing some of my photos. There's no need to have it printed in shops that will cost me more
b. FREE Call & Texts with SMART Gold Lite Plan 300 for 6 months subscription, Again, its FREE Call and Text for 6 months, how cool is that?
c. Free 1 month broadband subscription, I cant believe it, where else can you get this kind of offer?

With the SMART BRO Unlimited Home broadband, they will get consistent surf speed and stable signal.

The Smart BRO Unlimited Home broadband promo is from March 4 to June 4, 2011. So what are you waiting for? You may visit the nearest SMART Wireless Center or any SMART BRO accredited agents for further inquiries.
